Bassey, Ishle Park and Amalia Ortiz are three of the most powerful female poets both on page and on stage. Their unique native roots may have originated from different countries, but their cultured personalities provide a powerful integration. Bassey descends from Nigeria, Amalia from Mexico, and Ishle comes from Korea. And all three are born to immigrant parents. They have competed in the National Poetry Slam, been featured on Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry on HBO, and presented a tearful poetic tribute to Venus and Serena Williams at the 2003 NAACP Image Awards.

Standing as a triple threat, the essence of these three women leave audiences refined and refreshed. Their combined energy will bring an unassailable feminine force to our campus.
